About

We all have unique life experiences, but there are more places where we find we have a common understanding than we might realize. This understanding has allowed me to build a broad community of wise life mentors with a variety of experiences to draw from. Throughout each ministry role, job, and volunteer role I’ve held, I have learned from the wisdom and experience of others as well as my own. As I’ve willingly listened to field experts, I’ve learned to “chew the meat and spit out the bones.”

We’re all created to glorify God. And when we choose to embrace our life purpose and calling, we partner with him vocationally and in life.

Isaiah 43:6-7 says,

“I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”(ESV)

It took me twenty-six years to narrow the scope of my life’s calling and another four to develop a plan that worked well for our family so I could begin to live it out in what I define as thriving in my sweet spot. Our sweet spot is the narrowing of our calling where the combination of our gifts, skills, and talents combine with our passions and interests in a unique way.

When we thrive in our sweet spot, we’re living out God’s plan for our life rather than following someone else’s advice or version of our calling. While my timeline may seem like a ridiculously long time, milestones spread throughout my life were necessary pieces of the puzzle that helped me clarify my calling.

And here’s the best part: while the results of my journey to uncover my calling are unique to me, the process is one anyone can adapt and implement. My strategy to find a deeper understanding of God’s plan for my life is one that others are already replicating and personalizing as they pursue thriving in their sweet spots.

As a writer, I am most passionate about inspiring others to pursue their calling and thrive in their life purpose. My first bookLessons from the SidelinesThoughts from on and off the football field on faith, family, and living well, was released in August 2020 and includes a seven-step action for discovering and learning how to thrive in the sweet spot of your calling. This was followed by Embracing Holy Interruptions, a 6-week study on mentoring in 2021.

As a Content Strategist, I am passionate about storytelling. I lead a team of In-House writers for the marketing agency I’ve worked for since 2016, SMA Marketing. Additionally, I work closely with clients and Inbound Strategists to ensure all the content SMA creates meets SEO best practices and tells each client’s unique story.

As a coach’s wife, I’ve created a space that hopefully allows those who are a little further behind me in the coaching life journey to find a safe place to ask questions and find answers to difficult questions. The coaching life isn’t easy, but it is a calling worth embracing.
